I ordered the sketchbook from the Hong Kong website on July 4 and received it in Oregon USA on July 12. That included an extra day because I wasn't home to sign for it and had to go to the Post Office to pick it up. That is probably the only problem I see with the whole shipping process - signing for mail can be difficult for people who work during the day.
The sketchbook cost $89. Hong Kong dollars that is. My actual cost U.S. was $11.78, which is an awesome price for the quality.
128 blank pages
Page color: cream
Weight: 118 g
Size: 108x149 mm (A6)/4.25x5.86 inches -- also comes in A5 size
Cover: Fine Italian PU
Extras: Color co-ordinated orange bookmark ribbon
The cover is plain without adornment except for a very small 'Daycraft' embedded in back corner and a dark blue-green--to my eyes more blue than green, but I know many people see the green as predominant. The page trim is orange, and I just love the combination. But there are several other color choices if it so happens that you don't. The orange time doesn't show on the pages itself, only along the edges of the book.
While the book is too large for most pockets it is very flexible. You can fold it nearly in half, front to back (I wouldn't for long though. Eventually, you'd crease the cover).
You can also fold pages completely to the back.
The pages are cream color, and surprisingly thick for such a light sketchbook.
I didn't have time to do more than one drawing (using a Stabilo Point 88 Colorkilla Erasable Fineliner Marker Pen - 0.4 mm - 10 Color Set , which I'll be reviewing in the near future), but there is some show through and a few dots bled through. I couldn't pick them up on the scanner. No feathering, the line-work is bold, and the color nearly brilliant.
Only the one drawing, sorry. I wanted this review to be the end-piece to my giveaway and I only got the book yesterday afternoon! I'll be posting more drawings though as time goes by and will let you know what else I find out about this book.
The Signature Sketchbook has what I've come to accept as the Daycraft funkiness. It's a combination of quality, originality and appeal. I've never met a Daycraft book I didn't like. I hope to meet many more!
