My travels seem to be done for a while, so today's the day I apply for unemployment. I'm up bright and early, and avoiding that task, so instead I worked on Laura Harms Weekly Challenge #7-Breathe. I did have trouble getting into the relax and breathe, mainly I think because I'm tense about the unemployment. Losing my job didn't upset me so much, but searching for a new one...
My ZT actually reminds of Dr Who's robot dog K-9, but at the same time it seemed insectisoid, so I deteremined it was a species of bee, he must have met somewhere on his travels.
So sorry to hear about the job.....you are such a perfectionist with your tangling....I am sure you are likewise in your work habits. I am sure you will find a better job!......Wonderful tangle by the way!
ReplyDeleteI have a suggestion.....write and illustrate a children's book...perhaps about a bee without knees!
ReplyDeleteThank you, LeeAnn.
ReplyDeleteI am actually playing around with a couple of ideas for illustrated books. I don't know anything about the technical aspects though, and I'm looking around at publisher's so I'll have an idea of how many pages to shoot for. I think the writing and drawing is the easy part, lol!
But unless very, very lucky, you don't make much money from writing. So I'll keep looking for a day job, meanwhile. With the economy, that takes a bit of luck too, lol. I won't be distraught if I don't find anything, but feel I have to make an honest effort if I'm getting the unemployment moolah.
oh dear, i'm sorry to hear about your job - i'm sending you good job-finding vibes!! in the meantime, i'm with ledenzer - illustration would be pretty killer!!
ReplyDeleteWishing you luck with any new endeavors you try and hope that your job hunt will be swift. Change is always a little scary, but I firmly believe that it works out the way it should. Your tangle is wonderful! Hang in there and breathe!
ReplyDeleteRooting for you!
ReplyDeleteYour bee sure makes me smile!
ReplyDeleteLove your alliterative remark! What a wonderful drawing - and good luck on the job hunt front; I always hated that part! Every ten years or so I get sick of my job and look for something new so at least I have no one to blame but myself.... *sigh*.
ReplyDeletei just love your work! it's like another world.
ReplyDeletei hope you find something soon! i definitely know how it feels! :(
I love your tangled bee! Hope you find a new job soon!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun tangle! Stay open and something better will come your way. There's a window opening somewhere, just for you.
ReplyDeleteIf this isn't "The Bee's Knees"...oh, wait...he doesn't happen to have knees, does he? Hmm, what happened to them? Yep, you definitely have the start to a great story.
ReplyDeleteYour kneeless bee is wonderful. I too, am on the job hunt, so I know what that feels like. Here's sending you good thought's.
ReplyDeleteThe Kneeless Bee Still Scurries Quite Quickly...would be a great title for a children's book, illustrated in tangles...this unemployment could just launch a new career. Love your tangle!
ReplyDeleteLove your bee!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you were the first post on the Diva Challenge site. Not only did I get to see your wonderful zentangle, but I got some fab advice. I recently found myself in the same employment (or lack of) situation as you. Unemployment? I hadn't even thought about it. Thanks to you, I applied and I think was accepted. You know government; it's so hard to understand their communications.
ReplyDeleteDid you have anything in mind as you tangled? I often wonder if i should ever pre-plan a shape. Does that narrow your thinking? preconceived expactations? Or free yourself from too much randomness? Hats off to The A*Team, I love it when a plan comes together, especially when there is no plan.
Thank you all!
ReplyDeleteDi, I almost never plan my zentangles, though I may do something that prompts me to add the next item. When I'm tired, I often use template strings to get me started. I find that I'm seldom satistifed if I have expectations when I start a ZT. I prefer to let the ink flow, and be surprised when I see what I created. On the unemployment front--I think they send you a letter or email and let you know if you are accepted. I think it differs from State to State though. Good luck!
Heather Cheryl, I am planning to try my hand at writing a book or two or three. I figure if I can't get it done now, I never will. My problem is that I have so many ideas, I'm torn as to where to start!
Love the "bee"! And wishing you a very shot time in the world of the unemployed.
ReplyDeleteI can see K9! Sorry to hear about the job situation. Wishing you all the best for what comes your way next... and thanks [very slight groan in the background] for another challenge!! [grin]
ReplyDeletebees are travelling much, lol.yours is adorable in its oddity .it makes me smile.i hope you're will smile soon relieved of the burden (google translate)of searching a new job...wish you all the bests!
ReplyDeletei never quite thought bees and tangles could work so well together....
ReplyDelete{{{hugs}}}
ReplyDeleteMolussus--having found myself in that very position at least twice in my adult life I can honestly say I know what you're feeling. Leaving/losing the job, not too bad...admitting that you need the help overwhelming. Use the government resources, that's what they are there for.
now...to something more FUN!! Love your tangle! I really think you SHOULD make a go of your idea for illustrating a book! Your work is amazing...I am constantly drawn to it and am in awe of how beautiful your work is...Another thought, make prints of some of your tangles and sell them in an etsy forum. I know several artists making a good go at that. [email me if you want some contacts to go check out].
This is just a opportunity for you to howl at your own moon [bad dog metaphor]. Embrace it...I suspect you are up for the challenge!
