Got lemons, make lemonade. Got marker bleedthru, make bleedthrumanade.
CZT Sue Jacobs is the guest challenger this week, and the challenge is String Theory v. IV: Creative Genesis. The idea is to take a string, tie it to a weight, and let it drop. Trace around the string for the string to your zentangle. My weight was a left-over ice cream stick from some Magnum ice cream (and now it's 'my' weight *sigh* That's a weight-loss joke, ha-ha).
By the way, if you try this challenge I recommend you don't do while there are ceiling fans overhead. I had to twist and shift and hold my pen at odd angles to keep my string on the page and still long enough to trace it. I suppose I could have got up and turned off the fan, but that would be cheating!
Ingredients: Letraset Markers (I got some new colors!) & Fineliners; Pentel Sunburst White gel pen; Faber-Castell Big Brush, Paperblanks Journal.
I realized I hadn't added enough contrast in my color, so I used my Big Brushes to add some blue and terracotta to the back. Then I went to the front and added a little blue. Much better.
Sandra, fun in the air, your ice-cream and fan inspiration story adds to a very effective curvy ZIA. I wish you were able to join us in October, I am so looking forward to meeting you one day!
ReplyDeleteLove the way the challenge came out. Your story about doing it added to the fun.
ReplyDeleteMmmm - love your new color combos, Sandra!
