Young White Poplar

I picked up an old book on the anatomy of trees in art.  I want to improve my knowledge of how trees are.  The way they branch.  They way they stand.  The shape and textures of their leaves.

Since I'm hosting a giveaway this week for a Hi-Tec-C Maica Set of 6 colors from Jetpens, I thought I'd use them to do a sketch.  This was done in a Stillman & Birn Zeta sketchbook using the Blue-Black, Brown and Baby Pink Maica pens.

    I am surprised there is no incorporated town called “Cottonwood” in Montana, though there is a “populated place” Trees-Plants Nursery
