I've always admired the brilliant splashes of color that you see in the oil paintings of Leonid Afremov. And when I saw that the alternate week 5 prompt from Journal52 was Psychedelic, I thought I'd try to emulate the look using Gellyroll pens in my Pentalic Traveler Midnight Sketchbook.
Not too bad. I wasn't sure how to handle the reflections in the wet pavement though so I'll have to work on that.

I can't believe what you are doing with Jellyrolls. This is gorgeous and I think your reflections accomplish just what you want them to. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I redid that pavement so many times. I'm glad it seems to have worked out.
DeleteI think your reflection on the pavement looks great. I only recently got some jellyroll pens … where were these when I was younger? They make me feel like a kid again, when the art teacher let us play with the pastels. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I know what you mean about the Gellyrolls. Using them feels so much like play, but you can get some serious results with them.
