I've often mentioned the Doodlewash site in my blog.  And what is Doodlewash?

It's a watercolor community - though a forum for pen and ink has also been added. Zentangle and tangle drawings are welcome in that forum.  It's a place for people to share their work, chat about art in general.  Charlie O'Shields, the creator and admin of the World Watercolor Group on Facebook, decide he wanted to create a place where people could interact with one another and so he started Doodewash.

Each day, he posts one of his paintings and shares his thoughts about life in general.  His paintings are fantastic, and his rambles are thoughtful and amusing. He hasn't missed a day since he started the site, and he's coming up on 1000 days of painting and posting.

Today I'm here to show you one of the prints that Charle sells at Doodlewash.  It's his Relaxing To Candles Print. I loved this painting when I saw it in one of Charlie's daily posts, and was so pleased to get a print of my own. This is a little different from the sort of thing I usually review, but I was thinking that these prints would make great gifts for birthdays and holidays, and decided to share it with you.

The print came in a sturdy cardboard roll, on a good quality paper.  The colors are bright and crisp and I think it looks like an actual painting. I chose this one because I felt it showed Charlie's ability to portray glass and the way he uses warm and cool colors to advantage.  He does these paintings in just a short amount of time, and I'm always awed when I see them.

When you post artwork and comment and generally interact at Doodlewash, you can earn DO points.  These points can be used to buy items at the DO Shop.  In the main store, you can buy art supply, and part of the purchase price (at no difference in cost to you) is donated to the Dreaming Zebra foundation to help underprivileged children get art supplies.

And in the Watercolor Boutique, several artist offer prints and original art for sale. Among them, are two of my friends, Jennifer McLean and Kate Powell, who have cards and prints for sale here.

Charlie has several other prints, totes, coffee mugs and other items for sale, and as I mentioned above there are offerings from many other artists.  It's free to join Doodlewash and it's a great place to hang out even if you aren't interested in shopping.
