Review of Softie Sewing Pattern from the DragonCharmer

Recently I won a sewing pattern in a contest held by Jennifer Carson at her Blog.  I recommend you check that blog because she gives away free sewing patterns every week!

Jennifer designs the most wonderful fantastic creatures possible in fabric and stuffing.  They are certain to delight the heart of any child, and most adults, as well.  Even my husband went 'ahh!'

Now for the reveal.  I don't sew.  But when I saw this contest I knew Jennifer's softies would be a perfect gift for my two great-nieces, and I have a mother, who does sew!  At 88, she needs a little help with the cutting but she makes that sewing machine sing (even though it isn't a Singer, lol).  She's also on a fixed income, so I'll buy all the fabric, etc., do the prep work, and she can do the sewing.  It will make her feel good to make something for the kids, and, really, this is just a win-win situation.

I was allowed to choose any of Jennifer's patterns, and I instantly fell in love with Nessie, the Lass of Loch Ness.  My grandfather (Joseph Scott) grew up in Lossiemouth, which isn't far from Loch Ness.  He always insisted that Nessie was a myth.  I'm delighted to finally prove him wrong!

The pattern itself comes in a plastic bag, with generous amounts of instruction.  My mother studied them for quite a well, clucking her tongue and nodding her head.  She loves Nessie as much as I do, and she's buzzed, eager to get started.

You can find Jennifer's patterns at the DragonCharmer .  You can opt to download instantly or get the pattern mailed.  Some of the patterns come written in Dutch as well as English.

Even if you don't sew, give Jennifer's website a visit.  You'll enjoy viewing the fantastic critturs, and you just might find the gift for that family member or friend who does sew!
