Roseate Spoonbill #52WeeksofWatercolourBirds #watercolor #‎WorldWatercolorMonth‬

I need to spend more time working with reds and pinks!  Reds are such powerful colors, and I'm not drawn to them, so I neglect using them.  Then when I want to, I really struggle to get the values I want.

The water in this photo had a subtle gleam rather than sparks of light.  I didn't capture that as well I wished, so that is another thing to practice.  That's one of the nice things about painting -- there is always a new challenge so it never grows boring!

Painted with Winsor & Newton & Sennelier pan colors in a Global Art Materials Field Watercolor Artist Journal Hand Book, 7 by 10-Inch.

Resource photograph came from the Morguefile.
