I was inspired by some paintings that Thomas Blanchard did with fountain pen ink, and decided to try it for myself.
I painted a wash with Amethyste de l’Oural on Winsor & Newton 140 lb cold press paper. Then I dipped my brush in water and lifted the pigment to create the flower petals. Once that dried, I painted another layer of ink around and behind the flowers.
This ink has both sheen and glitter. It shows in the original, but of course, I couldn't get it to show in either scan or photo.
It was an interesting experiment. I'll probably do more with this in the future.
