Fossilized in Amber #MixedMedia #ArtJournal #Rhodia

I'm working on a review and giveaway that will be happening in September for Rhodia's new Heritage notebook.  Believe it or not this drawing was done on a page of graph paper with orange ruling on ivory paper.

I can't seem to get a good sample of the actual page color, but this gives you an idea of what I started with.

I used Tombow Dual Brush pens to lay down solid color, then tangled with Pigma Microns, deepened colors with colored pencils, and finished with Sharpie water-based marker for highlights.

Proof I think, that a ruled paper can be a great foundation for artwork.

These journals are very cool and I can hardly wait to review them for you and hold the giveaway -- but with so many on vacation, I felt September would give more of you a chance to win one.  And these have been flying of the shelf, so I'm truly lucky to for the chance!

I had a couple of days at the coast and took my Heritage notebook along so I could do some artwork.  I took this photo at the Smelt Sands in Yachats, Oregon.
