Raffle for Saturday, June 12-closed

The winner of 'The Bridge to the Bubble Forest' is Hopewilbanks.

Thank all of you for joining!

I haven't done one of these for a while. Inspiration failed me this evening, and I couldn't think of a name for this 8x10 zentangle that I finished. Share some of your inspiration and tell me what you see in the drawing, and I'll through your name in drawing for June 12th.

Cheesh!  Forget to say that the raffle is for the drawing!  They say the mind is the first thing to go.

  1. Don't know why, but it reminds me of very artsy knitting, you know, thick threads, thick knittingpens ... LOL Anyway, it's beautiful, I love the white accents !

  2. I think this is what Ali Babi saw when he opened the treasury!

I have no clue what the raffle is for but my suggestions for a name are "The Tyranny of Wicker Roots" which is slightly negative or "Exposed Roots" which is not so negative I guess. This reminds me of very very old trees where some of the roots are exposed and all gnarled on top of the ground but still a bit buried. It is strange to offer a title without writing the story... but I am intrigued by the small creature that must live inside, using the wee hole in the left corner...

  5. Ah, that might be the creature's tail right next to it there. Kimberly--please write the story, lol! I've done a few drawings with story. I should do more of those.

Thank you all! The raffle's off to a great start.

  7. I see lights and fans and orange slices. It may have something to do with the fact that I am staying in a trailer (my Mom's) taking care of her and cleaning and it is already 80 degrees at 10 AM. I am in the UP and not expecting this kind of weather.

  8. I see a lot of different kumihimo hand braids weaving their way around the page.

  9. It makes me think of sailing. The square tangles in the upper right quad remind me of semaphore flags and the new tangle reminds me of rigging. How about Windjammer as a title? BTW, I love all your tangle patterns and your zendoodling.

  10. Anonymous, could you give me a link or email so I can contact you, if you win?

80 degrees at 10 am? We're having our coldest and rainiest May in years. Trade ya!

The Windjammer and the sailors are eating orange slices while they climb the Kumihimo hand braid rigging, all the while singing Jingle Bells! Awesome! You guys come up with the best stories!

  11. Moonshine in the cavern of chrystal. Chunks of rutilated quartz, slices of golden citrine and wedges of dark agate lay covered in the dust of million year old crushed bone. Just when the full moon is at the correct angle, balls of flourite and specks of opal shine out through the cracks of dried mud and broken shell.

  12. This is a beautiful piece of art. On the left side I see a gallaxias of planets in the universe merging across the sky. I have only been doing this art for a short time since last Christmas. I received a Christmas Card from my daughter and I have looked all over for the rubber stamp of it. I finally asked her where she got it and told me of this old art of doodling into a new zentangle art. I just finished four collages for wedding presents and they are beautiful when matted and framed. I love looking at other peoples work and no matter how you try you cannot copy someones elses work, it is different every time. It is relaxing and rewarding when you get your art piece down. I thank you for sharing. Some day I will share mine. Sheila Arthur, Ontario, Canada.

  13. I would name it "Woven" for the ways that it is so carefully woven together - like a complex fabric.

  15. Well how about Through the Nooks and Barley Stooks. I heard this line in a folk song but can't remember the title it was sung by Joan Baez. Smiling here!

  16. I see what looks like part of a woven blanket, tangerine slices, nutshells, perhaps a shelled necklace and some buttons, and a pearls set in silver bracelets. So much going on here...quite amazing. You can reach me at Facebook...that is where I found the link to your blog :)
